Drier Installation Technician
(Summer Role)

Drier Installation Technician (Summer Role)

We are looking for a talented individual to join our existing team of Drier Installation Technicians throughout the summer. We are the main dealers for Master Driers, Alvan Blanch, Svegma Dryer & Skandia Handling Equipment and due to the increasing workload, we need to expand our team to enhance the service we provide.

Description

  • Work on and install grain systems alongside our team of technicians
  • Carry out scheduled service maintenance, repairs and installation on-site and at the depot
  • Carry out fault-finding and diagnosis
  • Complete pre-delivery inspections
  • Fabrication & welding skill
  • Complete job stories and hours
  • Work alongside and communicate with customers, colleagues, manufacturers, and suppliers
  • On-the-job training provided

Experience and Attributes

  • Experience working on Agricultural Machinery and Equipment – Tractors, Sprayers and Dryers etc
  • Experience or knowledge would be preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Can do attitude, happy to work as a team or on their own
  • Forklift license required (Qualification will be paid for by us for the right candidate)
  • PAF license would be an advantage but not necessary
  • Must be happy working at a height

Demonstrator & Technology Specialist

Working alongside the sales team, you will have a crucial part in expanding our sales in Shropshire and surrounding counties following an extremely successful 2022. Promoting our 

We are looking for someone with exceptional organisational and machine operating skills for this position. You will be a strong communicator who can identify and qualify customer needs while remaining knowledgeable and committed to the cause.

Description

  • To demonstrate agricultural machinery to the required customer/audience and promote our products to their full potential
  • Undertake the delivery and installation of all new and used machines
  • Ensure you maintain strong relationships with our customer base and suppliers
  • Support and promote Valtra Guidance systems and assist with the technology program
  • Must have the ability to assist in the workshop with machine preparations when required
  • Attend nationwide training courses as required
  • Help Organise and present customer training days
  • Assist with the organisation of Country Shows & Exhibitions

Experience and Attributes

  • Experienced machinery operator
  • Good practical understanding of modern farm machinery
  • Strong knowledge of precision farming systems and in-field technology/ training will be provided
  • Strong organisational skills and self-motivating

Sprayer Technician

Are you an experienced technician or a sprayer operator who is looking for a new challenge?

To maintain the highest level of After Sales Support for our premium Horsch, Berthond and Housham sprayer brands, we are looking for a dedicated Sprayer Technician to join our team and provide exceptional service and support to our customers.

The successful candidate must have basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and experience working with sprayers would be an advantage however, full product training will be provided.

The successful technician will be working alongside our full-time Sprayer & Drier Specialist. This position will be field-based, with a primary focus on breakdowns and routine maintenance for customers across Shropshire and surrounding counties, as well as overhaul and repair of new and used customer machines.

Description

  • Stripping down, fault-finding and replacing parts
  • Testing and confirming accurate operation and application.
  • Servicing, maintenance and repairs of agricultural sprayers
  • Complete descriptive job sheets
  • Attending breakdowns on-site and in the field
  • Valtra training will be provided 
  • NSTS Testing once qualified 

Experience and Attributes

  • Experience in welding would be advantageous but not essential
  • Experience or knowledge would be preferred

AGRICULTURAL SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Essential duties will include:

  • Maintenance and repairs on site and on farm of both tractors & machinery completed to a high standard.
  • Assembly & PDI of new machines to the correct specification.
  • To be competent in fault finding on Engines, Hydraulics, & Electrical issues using the latest diagnostic equipment.
  • Prompt & correct filling in of all paperwork – time sheets, job cards & reports, etc.
  • Work alongside and communicate with customers, colleagues, manufacturers, and suppliers.
  • Undertaking relevant manufacturer training as & when required – giving you the opportunity to develop your skills & knowledge of the latest products & services on the market.

Key attributes:

  • Experience of working on Agricultural Machinery and Equipment – Tractors, Sprayers, Drills/Cultivation and Driers
  • Skilled & knowledgeable in mechanical, electrical & hydraulic systems

VALTRA APPRENTICE
LEVEL 3 TECHNICAL ADVANCED EXTENDED DIPLOMA IN AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING

The apprenticeship scheme, in partnership with  Llysfasi (Cambria), will be the starting point for our highly respected and sought after agricultural engineers in the sector.

The scheme combines classroom and workshop training with practical, work-based development to lay the foundations for a successful career in the agricultural industry.

What qualifications do I need?

5 GCSE’s at grade 4 or C’s in English and Maths + 3 others or equivalent. Students with grade D in English and/or Maths would be considered depending on grade profiles and practical experience. Applicants who have not attained these levels should still apply as you may be working at the correct levels. Level 2 Diploma in Agricultural Engineering at High Merit/Distinction.

 

Course Length

Approximately 36 weeks in college on a block release programme. This enables work-based learning and experience to be gained whilst working at your AGCO dealership. The college blocks are at Coleg Cambria Llysfasi near Ruthin, North Wales. Enhancements include additional bespoke technical product training with AGCO, delivered at AGCO’s training centre or at the college.

 

Qualifications Gained

You will receive a range of qualifications as part of your learning programme. These include:

  • Level 3 Technical Advanced Extended Diploma in Land-based Engineering.
  •  Agricultural Engineering skills challenge Baccalaureate.
  • Essential skills in Numeracy, Literacy and IT.
  • Additional non/legislative qualifications may include telescopic handler, abrasive wheels, FLT, first aid and welding etc.
  • AGCO training accreditation.
  • AGCO online training.
