JOB OPPORTUNITIES
PARTS ADVISOR

You will join a busy agricultural sales and service team and be responsible for the selling, receiving and delivery of parts and accessories. Promoting the latest parts deals & offers. You will be accountable for the safe, effective and profitable running of the parts department, including parts counter, show room, yard and all storage areas. This is a full-time role based on a 40-hour week from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday with a requirement to work Saturday mornings as per business seasonal opening hours. This will be on a rota basis at overtime rate.

Responsibilities:

(This is an exam not an exclusive list)

  • Promote and sell parts through all franchises and/or services to meet customer needs, by telephone, internet and face to face; taking payment as required.
  • Ensure all orders for customers & internet customers are ready for collection, delivery or packaged for courier/postal delivery.
  • Prepare quotes for customers.
  • Supply parts to Service Technicians including identifying parts required and ordering them for the relevant job.
  • Verify receipts of incoming deliveries, including booking stock onto the management system, locating in relevant place or forwarding to despatch/workshop, whichever is applicable.
  • Ensure the showroom is maintained to a high standard.
  • Maintain control of stock levels and assist with stock takes.
  • Ensures relevant administration tasks are completed as required i.e. order processing, sales advice notes and workshop jobs.
  • Contact customers with special offers/deals and liaise with the marketing team to promote seasonal or out of season deals.
  •  Seek out new lines of business to develop and improve the parts department promoting sales to meet or beat the sales targets.
  • Liaise with all other departments and members of staff.
  • Comply and adhere to company Health & Safety policy and guidelines.
  • Take reasonable care for the health and safety and wellbeing of yourself and others. This extends to co-operating to enable Edwards & Farmer Ltd to fulfil it’s legal duties.
  • Manage and implement safe working environment in retail, office and storage area.
  • Heavy lifting is required to move heavy parts and oils safely.

Key attributes:

  • Experience in an agricultural parts environment or similar is preferred.
  • Basic Machinery/Automotive knowledge.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of windows programmes.
  • Excellent communication & customer relationship skills.
  • The ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment and thrive in a team environment.
  •  Looking for a long-term career.
  • Driving licence.
  • Trustworthy and be able to maintain confidential business information.
  • Flexible as extended hours may increase during the height of the season.
  • Self-motivated.

CPD/Knowledge – Accredited Manufacturer Training

  • Continued professional development both to maintain and improve on skills and knowledge. An AGCO training and a progression plan will also be made available to you.

Employment Package:

£26,000 - £33,000 depending on experience and ability of successful applicant + any agreed additional hours at overtime rate.

SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Are you an experienced agricultural machinery technician looking for a new challenge?

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Agricultural Technician to join our team at Chatford, Shrewsbury. As a Service Technician at Edwards & Farmer Ltd you’ll play a crucial part in providing and maintaining an exceptional level of customer service whilst working with our industry-leading manufacturers & suppliers.              

The successful technician will be working closely with our experienced professionals who are passionate about what they do. Prior experience in the repair and maintenance of agricultural tractors and equipment, coupled with a thorough understanding of modern farm equipment technologies is essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and repairs on and off-site both tractors & machinery completed to a high standard.
  • Assembly & PDI of new machines to the correct specification.
  • To be competent in fault finding on Engines, Hydraulics, & Electrical issues using the latest diagnostic equipment.
  • Prompt & correct filling in of all paperwork – time sheets, job cards & reports, etc.
  • Work alongside and communicate with customers, colleagues, manufacturers, and suppliers.
  • Undertaking relevant manufacturer training as & when required – giving you the opportunity to develop your skills & knowledge of the latest products & services on the market.
  • Ensures prompt and accurate completion of all necessary reports and administrative tasks, including job cards and time sheets, maintaining a high standard of quality.
  • Ensures a tidy and organised workshop environment, actively contributes to overall workshop organisation, and promotes the proper utilization of tools and vehicles at all times.
  • Weekend rota with retainer

Key attributes:

  • Experience working on Agricultural Machinery and Equipment using diagnostic tools & equipment and referral to manufacturer service portals & books.
  • Skilled & knowledgeable in mechanical, electrical & hydraulic systems
  • Professional, proactive & organised
  • Exceptional customer service approach
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
